Mars, Saturn, and Venus are seen in a nice triangular "planetary trio" conjunction soon after sun-down in this photo taken on August 10th, 2010.

All during 2020 Jupiter and Saturn have been setting up a "Great Conjunction" with the planets eventually appearing closer in the sky to each other than they have in the past 800 years. This so-called "Great Conjunction" will occur on 21 December 2020.

Below is a photo taken from my backyard on 20 December 2020 as the planets were setting in the southwestern sky, between the roofs of my two neighbors to the west.
Saturn is above Jupiter in the photo.
