While watching planes at SFO I saw a Hawaiian Airlines A330 departing Oakland so I checked the apps to see where it was going...it turned out to be the Oakland Raiders charter to Denver for the NFL game in Denver on January 1st. I got to thinking...and long story short I ended up buying two tickets for the game from my phone right there in the SFO terminal.
So instead of watching planes in Denver on New Year's Day I'd be attending my first ever NFL game with my sister. At this point, defending "World Champion" Denver Broncos were out of the playoffs but they still could make it tougher for Oakland by beating them on Denver's home turf...which is exactly what they did by a score of 24-6.
We had a great time at the game and we were plenty warm enough in the 40-degree (F) weather...I'd really like to do another NFL game someday.
After the game we headed straight for DIA for my 9pm-ish departure for Phoenix.
Due to a gate change I was unable to get a decent photo of N928FR arriving from Memphis but I did photo it sandwiched between a couple planes at the gate.
