Wanting to see more than Oahu this trip I scheduled a round trip from Honolulu to the Big Island of Hawaii. To keep it interesting I flew into Kona and out of Hilo while renting a car to drive between the two airports. I did some birding along the way as well as visiting the southernmost point in the United States: South Point.
