Thanksgiving week of 2016 was an epic week of flying for me. I made the flight reservations two months in advance so I was really anticipating the events of this week and really hoping it would all come together. Thanksgiving week is historically a very busy travel week in the U.S. but truth be told...I was venturing outside of the U.S.A. by air for the first time in almost 20 years.
First leg of my trip was a positioning flight from Phoenix to San Francisco early Sunday morning. This would give me over 24 hours at SFO to watch planes and almost guarantee I'd not miss my next flight: the month-old Singapore Airlines A350 nonstop service to Singapore.

Singapore Airlines A350-941 9V-SMF departs SFO for the nearly 17-hour journey to Singapore. Sunday's weather at SFO started out pretty crappy but improved dramatically through the day.
