During Summer Break 1979 I decided to take a trip to South Florida and visit MIA for a day. I'd received a 50% discount coupon from United on the DC-8 flight from LAX to DEN in June and I wanted to put it to good use. Since United didn't fly to MIA at the time, I flew to FLL via ORD.
According to my notes from the trip, I sat in seat 15A and we became airborne at 4:31pm, touching down at ORD at 7:25pm.
