1998 - 2004

This is my Boston Terrier Penny Lane, AKA "P-Dog." She was born in Colorado in mid-1998 and lived to be almost 13 1/2 years old. Penny Lane passed away on Christmas Day 2011.

My Mom got her as a puppy, and she lived with my Mom and two adult Boston Terriers (Pugsley and Chardonay) until they passed away from old age. My mom then adopted a rather rotund Beagle that she named Maggie May as a playmate for Penny. After my Mom passed away in 2001, Penny stayed with my sister until my Dad took Penny Lane for the next 3 1/2 years and she lived with him in Reno, Nevada. I've had Penny Lane since October 2004. She loved riding in the truck, and readily assumed her spot in the "co-pilot's seat whenever we went for a ride.

P-dog was always interested in being where I was...
she truly was a best friend
I started refering to the BNSF "Peavine" as the "P-dog Vine"
since she was with me so much while watching trains
And she nearly always wanted to see
what was going on outside the truck.
P-dog seems to be suggesting that it's time to head home...

Penny is probably one of the few railfan dogs
to have ever visited the place

Hop-a-long is getting around pretty good...
In March 2008, Penny had a toe removed
from her left front paw.

This is a post-op photo while
she was still a little drugged up.
P-dog after the meds have finally worn off.
Another photo later in March with
her paw still bandaged up.

Her paw healed up really good and
she got around like normal.
